Default Pushrods, valve springs, rocker arm, valves

I think I may have a bent push rod. It shudders under lite acceleration, but accelerates normally under firm acceleration. It has also had a slight miss I could hear through the exhaust for about a year. Other day I started it up, and it died immediately. But after that it started right back up and was fine.

I just replaced the grey cps with the black one from riff raff, so gonna see how it runs after work. Just in case I was doing pricing for pushrods, valve springs, rocker arms, and I guess new valves?? I've found aftermarket Comp Cams push rods and valve springs. I would like to get everything after market/beefer. Any suggestions on where and what to get??

And whats the deal with having the cam at the 11 o'clock position before doing this job? How do you make sure it is?

Thanks

Could a compression check, rule out a bent push rod or bad valve?

I've seen a vid where someone was checking for compression with a digital graphing gauge through the exhaust. I guess a weak reading meant bad compression. Seems like it would be easier to check that way to see if you need to pull the covers off??? It would be cool if you could do that, then get it to sync with an OBDII scanner to see which cylinder was firing to see which was getting bad compression.

A bent push rod is not going to fix itself depending on engine load. Check the compression.

I just replaced the grey cps with the black one from riff raff, so gonna see how it runs after work. Probably the same. Make sure you don't have a base engine mechanical problem before spending money on things you don't need. Why would you need new rocker arms?

I know what you are saying on how they all sound like they have a miss. I know that sound really well, and this is different. I will check for codes before I do anything extravagant.

[B]I[B] would change out the rocker arms while i had everything apart. My uncle changed out a broken pushrod, put everything back together. 2 weeks later he had another broken pushrod and broken rocker arm. He tried welding the rocker arm back together, that only lasted aboout 10mi.

YouTube - 7.3 exhaust

This is my exhaust. It didn't sound like that when i first got it. And I can feel it when I'm in the driver seat.

Well, after it running with an acceleraion sputter for 2 months...its gone after I instlled the black cps. I tried to make it do it, but still didn't do it.The lie-o-meter is showing a gain of 2-3mpg. Hard to hand calculate with my tires throwing off my spedo and odometer. Next thing on my list to buy is AE from PHP....after I spend about a grand on tires.
