I have a 2003 F350 with a Gryphon with canned tunes. tow, race, extreme, 60,80,100hp respectively.
Can I tow in the 100hp setting with out wrecking anything?
In tow and stock mode, the truck seems to be a dog........when I tow in tow mode......7000lb trailer or so, my egts run about 1000F and mileage is poor.......same in stock. If I put it in extreme(100hp), it tows like a dream, egt's drop to about 850-900 and mileage jumps about 4-5mpg!
Haven't tried the Race setting yet. I drive all the time in extreme cause the tow tune doesn't seem to do much. Am I safe to tow in extreme as long as I watch TFT and EGT's? Truck has a shift kit and upgraded converter......just don't want to burn anything up, but the mileage and power is sure nice on the 100hp tune..........
