I am installing Ranch hand front and rear replacements and read some posts on F150 online that the fog lights will lose some of there brightness. I assume this is due to the steel grate in front of them. Can I insatall a brighter more powerful bulb? Is it going to produce more heat?

What are they? Light housings or brush guards? Sylvania makes the silverstar. The bulb is #9145(not anymore heat than normal). Or you could go HID route with 5K-6K kits(less heat and more candles). Lars

Silverstar's are really good upgrade and make a big difference compared to standard bulbs (little or no extra heat)
