Default Transmission Question

I'm looking to verify that all is as it should be. I blew the transmission in my truck. My local Ford dealer put a reman'd unit in. I had returned my programming back to stock, just in case they opted to reflash. I don't believe they did. I did remove my Gryphon and have the hex code noted. They noted they cleared all codes, but nothing more.

When I got my truck back, I put the unit back and verified the hex code didn't change. I then reprogrammed to the custom level I like. I did notice it took a few extra minues, maybe that was just one extra minute, for the Gryphon to program. All seems to be working well, shifts are MUCH firmer then they ever were, but I'm assuming that's because the trans is new.

Would one of you guys confirm my belief that all is fine.

Thanks

Sounds good. You got real lucky they didn't do a reflash. It usually takes longer to program from stock than from another power level anyway.

Thanks.

I've got to take the truck back to the dealer (leaking transfer case seal), so I'm returning to stock again. Just for comparison purposes. Oddly, when I returned to stock yesterday, I noticed that my speed now matches my GPS. I have 275/70-18's vs the stock 275/65-18's and it was always off before. Makes me think, the tech made an adjustment. I'm going to hook up my autotap software and see if the tire size is still listed at 650 rev/mile. If they tweeked the size, that might explain why it took longer to program from stock vs previous times I programmd from stock to custom.

Ah, who knows...

If your new tires are 275/70-18s, I'd expect the rev per mile value to be about 628. The 650 figure you stated is what I'd expect to see for your stock 275/65-18s.

But actually, the Gryphon expects you to enter the Tire Size as a circumference in millimeters, and your new TS should be close to 2560mm. If you have a new CS or CTS, you enter the diameter in inches, which would be 32.1" for your new feet.
