Thanks, another positive aspect of the idea is that the old units can then be recycled and possibly resold. Not everyone is going to want all of the bells and wistles of the CS and CTS. Now I don't know how much it costs PHP to make an order of new programmers so I'm not sure how much reselling them would save on costs, but the programmer isn't something that gets beat up. They could offer the used ones at a discount making their product even more enticing to reluctant buyers. If they dont want to sell used programmers to later write custom tunes they could have a foot note on the order form "If you do not desire extra custom files you have the option for a discounted used programmer." (Instant easy sale)
Or how about if you like the regular gryphon and you break or crack something? They would have another old one to replace either just the damaged part or the whole unit.

I know that if I were to sell my programmer they would still have to make changes on their records anyway so why not look the unit over to make sure it's not damaged? This might also reduce the number of people selling their unit after they program their vehicles.

...Hehe, I've got all kinds of good ideas waiting to spring up.
