An easy way to tell is that the firing order IS NOT going to have a sequence that goes from one bank to the next.
What I'm saying is that if the test goes in the firing order, you'll get two cylinders on the same bank that "buzz" one after the next.
If you stand over the engine while doing the buzz test, either you'll get a R-L-R-R-L-R-L-L (which would be the firing order) or you'll simply get a R-L-R-L-R-L-R-L (which would be 1-8 in order).
