Ok i took the truck into the dealer for some routine repairs under warranty...before it went in i reflashed my pcm back to stock using the gryphon. The dealer flashed my pcm for one of my problems so now my question is.

Will my gryphon work as normal or do i have ot have Bill change the hex code or anything?

Im assuming itll work fine....but i want to make sure before i plug it back in.

It depends - Turn on the ignition key and plug your Gryphon back in. Note your HEX code! If it is different and it probably will be, there are two options:

If you do not have your custom tunes yet, you should be fine. You should be able to reprogram the truck to any of the canned tunes. But, make sure Bill and Corey get the new hex value so that your custom tunes can be written properly! Change it in your UserCP too.

But, if you already have custom tunes and the HEX code is different, then they either won't work properly on your truck or you won't be able to program the PCM at all. Contact Bill so that he can modify your tunes, which you will have to "re-download". In the meantime you can drive around on Level 0 and use the unit as a gauge. (Bill should be able to "fix" your tunes rather quickly, once he knows your HEX).

If the dealer reflashed your PCM and your HEX is no longer TEJF3PZ, then the files you have will not work.

Incidentally, I had already made adjustments to the OD issue you were having and loaded them on the server but if the HEX is changed then those updates are useless. :(

Let me know what the new code is.

So basically under no circumstances the dealer should never be allowed to re-flash your pcm if you have custom tunes.:yesnod:

Not unless you have a good reason for doing it, such as addressing some sort of drivability issue or something like that.

AND, PHP sells these cool little plug covers that say, "DO NOT REFLASH - Or I'll cut your ...." :smiley_roll1: No, they really don't go that far, but, they do sell the "Don't Reflash" covers. Might be good insurance - especially if you have a recent model year truck.

Ok so theres always something. Just my luck right.

So i go to install Pegasus and when i go to run the program i get a .OCX file missing error. Does it work on Vista or no?

If it doesnt ill have to install it on a different computer.... no biggie.

It works on Vista 32 bit and you have to disable user accounts for it to run.

Do a restart wait five minutes while stuff reloads.

Try uninstalling it and reinstalling it.

Fought 32 vista 1 1/2 hour before using office computer with xp the next day and what a breeze that was.

I know with vista uac there is a restart.

Anything in terms of programs I always restart the computer before using the program. After installing.

I'm trying to think of any other bs I did!? Before I gave up

Off topic....but thats exactly what I ended up doing...but I had to wait 5 days :( due to router problems.

 Vista

The next rebuild of Pegasus no longer uses FTP so router problems should be over with. The MSCOMM32 issue was related to the installer.

Outside of that, we've had very few issues with Vista, well... except for Vista 64. I've got a fix for some of the COM port problems where you are now able to specify the desired COM port and bypass the auto-detect. I also fixed the UAC issue with the COM port.

Vista still has other problems in relation to the self-update mechanisms. Several folks have complained that the self update doesn't work. I'm trying to work around that and for now all we have to do is manually run the Update.exe file found in the Pegasus folder. (C:Program FilesPHPPegasusUpdate.exe)

There are a few other goodies added, but I'll need to get them documented and tested first.

Take care.

Lars

It wouldnt go into OD until over 55mph- annoyning when driving 80% on streets that are at 45mph lol

When i put it in a different level it would shift into OD around 45mph which i like. So then Bill fixed that issue.
