Going to be building a lightning swap here over the next 5 months, and was wondering if you would be able to tune around it?

Thank you.

Good for you!
Glad to someone putting their need for tunes in the preplanning agenda.

Yah, Bill should be able to help you out.
Give him a call and chat with him.
Warning he's a hard guy to get a hold of.

haha, yea i want everything in line before i got about taking everything apart :D I know he is a hard guy to get ahold of, im running his custom tunes now on the current N/A set-up ( classic case of bolt ons ) I was hoping he would chime in when he gets a second, seeing as i wont be needing the tune for a few months out now, but i would just like re-assuance that he will be able to tune around it.

Are you planning on using the full harness/PCM from the Lightning? Honestly, that's the only way it's going to work properly.

Let me know what you've got in mind.

nope, will not be using the whole lightning harness or pcm, factory harness only has to have 2 sensors extended and i believe 2 parameters disabled in the tune. I am currently "copying" another member on F150online and NLOC's build (Built54) and he is running the factory harness & PCM, but is tuning with SCT Advantage pro III ? software. I was hopping that you would be able to send a type of basic lightning tune to get the truck running and possibly datalog for you the rest of what you would need for a mail order tune.

Cant tell me it wouldnt be cool to have a built lightning swapped truck tuned by you at PHP :D:D:woot::woot:

Is he using the Lightning PCM? Because if he's not, I don't see how he's controlling the Intercooler and the Boost Control as those outputs do not exist in a standard PCM. If he is using the Lightning PCM, that's a different story. Or maybe he just bypassed those controls.

I'm not saying it can't be done, but if it was to be done 100% correct then you really should be using the factory Lightning harness. Just my thoughts.

As for the tuning, since we are SCT dealers and have full access in SCT Advantage, we wouldn't have any problem providing what you need. We've tuned some really quick Gen 2 Lightning and Harley Davidson trucks in the past... some making over 700 HP. Those suckers are FUN!

he is only using the factory 5.4L n/a PCM, running advantage from sct, as far as i know he has disabled the boost controller and intercooler, but i can ask. I know he has for sure disabled egr, knock sensors, map, and baro sensors.

The sensors aren't a big deal. I'm slightly concerned he's not using the PCM for boost control, but I'd suspect he's using a standalone controller which would be fine.

Keep us posted.
