i was wondering how fast a f150 is suppose to go lol. i have mine and i only toped mine out at 105. i was curious bc my bullydog programer is suppose to override the governor on it so i'd expect it to at least hit 120. but when i toped it out it wasnt like it governed out it just hit 4 rpms and stayed there and the speedometer stopped at 105 and it just ran like that till i let off the gas??? o and the speed limiter is set at 180 even tho theres no way it will hit that but just throwing that in.

With the gryphon and using a tune(canned/custom) along with custom options you should be able to overide this and make it stick.
Don't ask me how I know!

Ok,
The BD is suposed to be at 120?
And you can only get to 105?
Something ain't right

Maybe, the rev limit is too low?
Didn't Bill get up to around 122 on a track in a tuned 150? Maybe it had more bells and whistles than just a programmer though.
I'd really be pretty leery though about taking a truck to those speeds on ordinary roads with ordinary tires. I think you're asking for some serious trouble.

With my old 03' f150 when I attempted to go speeds higher than 100. I aways was on a closed course or drag track and followed the tracks minimum requirements which one of them was having tires and rims rated for those speeds.
My 03' was also a 4x4 which is a bad thing also when you go over 100. Most of the components on 4x4's are not rated or even tested for sustained speeds of over 100.
Usually the quick runs of "let's see what this baby's got" won't hurt.

I'd better double check my tires for those times my wife borrows my truck unsupervised :disbelief::disbelief:

The 5.4L shouldn't have any problem hitting 120. The trip we took in Gator's truck at Talladega had us at 122 and that was only one lap. I'm sure we could have pushed a few more MPH out of it, despite the fact that it's like pushing a brick. There wasn't anything special about the programmer. Just a run of the mill Gryphon.
As mentioned, make sure your tires are rated to exceed 100 MPH.

I have personally seen 134 out of a 05 Supercrew King Ranch with the original Edge tune. Not at liberty to discuss where or when. But yes, 120+ is and does happen.

I have touched 120 here on the autobahn with just a edge. It felt like it had more but my tires are only rated to 112 so I let off.:sigh:

That's probably smart. Our trucks are not the most perfectly designed aerodynamic masses, and I expect the control of them gets pretty squirrelly at those speeds.

On paper my truck is capable of 197 mph :3gears:
Longshot's chicken scratch handwriting on the back of an old Walmart receipt and a calculator
5600(max rpm) x 92.11(tire circumference in inches) x 60(minutes in an hour)
12(inches in a foot) x 5280(feet in a mile) x 3.55(diff. gear ratio) x .7 (O/D ratio)
=197
But I'll keep the secret of how to get there to myself :hehe:

Well crap! Since my Gear Ratio is higher, you're going to leave me in the dust! I guess it's what I get for buying a POS truck, eh? (Please have the martinis ready when I finally get there.)
