If you have the 5.4L then you have a 9.75 rear end.

With 37's I would go with 4.88's definitely. And dont forget to do the gears on the front also (4wd only).

Give Randy's Ring and pinion a call, they will hook you up!

Yukon Gear is what we use.

On the support page of PHP's website there is a gear calculator:http://dygytalworld.ehost-services139.com/php/_Support.html

Do a search for Randy's ring and pinion.
Probably the best quality and at the best prices.

:2thumbs: I was just looking for their name to post it...of course I couldn't remember where I wrote it down. And just to add to it....everyone I have talked to wouldn't use anything other than Yukon gears.

You are looking for install kits for both front and rear. Also you are looking for ring and pinions for front and rear.

CALL THEM/
EMAIL THEM
They are the experts and they may need some info like your VIN and/or axle tag numbers.
Phone # and contact info is in the link I provided.

If you have a 3.73 gear now, a 4.56 gear w/38's will achieve roughly the same RPM per MPH as stock.

If you have a 4.10 gear now, a 5.13 gear w/38's will achieve roughly the same RPM per MPH as stock.

A 4.88 gear w/38's will yield roughly the same RPM per MPH as a 3.96 gear ratio on stock tires, and is probably the best combination of pulling and economy. Of course, economy is a relative term as the mass of the rotating assembly is about to be triple or more. Certainly not good for stop & go driving. :)

Hi Bill
so you recommend 4.56 if i want the same as stock`s performance with 38`s, but i didn`t understand the 4.88 very clear , can u explain it more please thanx

Bill was stating that eventhough 4.56 is optimum on paper the 4.88 will help get the bigger tires moving better in the real world abd also will help whenever you pull a trailer.
