Hello I am looking to get a chip and a cold air intake. I was looking at the FU chip however I need a little help. If the FU package comes with the burner and chip how do I change the setting when I am in my truck. My other question is the what do I use for gauge cluster?

The chip has the capability of being programmed with up to 6 different "tunes". You "burn" the chip with your computer and then install the chip into the truck. You can switch between any of the 6 programs that you burned onto the chip at any time while driving.

You can remove the chip from the truck and program the chip with up to 6 different tunes whenever you want then reinstall the chip in the truck and choose from any of the tunes you just burned to the chip.

You can buy an a-pillar gauge pod and mount whatever "flavor" of gauge you like.

Cody, Thanks for your response. I'm leaning towards the FU chip I think it just provides the best flexibility. Is there something that comes with the FU package that mounts in the cab so I can change between the 6 programmed profiles on the fly? Also, any suggestions as to where I should start looking for a Pillar guage pod and guages?

I see your confusion. the FU is a 6 position rotary switch not a programmer like the Evo or Gryphon that has to take a few minutes to write your tune to the ECM every time you want a different tune. that is the beauty of a chip vs a programmer, all 6 tunes are instant shift on the fly.....

I last purchased a Isspro gauge kit for my dad's Super Duty from DieselManor.com and got them installed. Nice looking set of gauges. Although I doubt you'll have trouble with the gauges we were unlucky to have the control box not work for the pyrometer. Called up customer service and they sent out a new box, I did not even have to send the bad one back. Like I said, I don't think you'd have a problem, we were just unlucky, but I brought up this example to show the excellent customer service.

If I may offer a bit of advice, DO NOT get Autometer gauges. I have installed numerous pyrometers (in their sport-comp line) that do not work. It's frustrating as all get out when I have to remove the pyrometer, make a 2 hour (130 mile) round trip to get it exchanged, and then reinstall the new one. I can't charge the customer an extra $30 for a fuel charge that isn't his fault.

Same here, been through 2 Autometer pyro. gauges in 1 1/2 years. Going to be replacing with Isspro soon.
