I am new here & have a question. I have a compeditor`s chip & am wondering about getting new tunes from PHP. I have single shot injectors & have a miss - shudder. Can someone here help me? Thanks , Tony

First off, welcome to the forum Tony. :howdy:

I'm going to move your original post to somewhere that may get you better responses.

PHP can definitely get you running on your single shot injectors. It would be helpful to know what year your truck is, mileage, modifications, etc.

A miss......
That's likely something that cannot be fixed in the tuning primarily because a miss (especially if it's a rhythmic single-cylinder misfire) isn't going to be something tuning related but mechanical.

If you can, give us a little more information please!

Hi, My truck is a 1999, 250 , Regulated return @ 68psi,4" Turbo - out ,177,00 miles, DP. Swamp`s has tested compression, buzz test, changed injectors played with moving the cps in till it hit. Dave said that taking oil pressure up helps this engine to smooth out. This miss, is random & at about 2 psi boost. & then it will shudder going up in rpm. I have changed uvc wireing, IDM & all filters. I have talked to some other guys that have had the same problem & you got their trucks to run right & it was the tuner. Is there something I can try too see if it will work? I have a F-6 tuner.:help:

Did they do a contribution test?

Any codes?

Are you sure it is not a tranny shutter or driveling issue?

Tony,
I got your phone message (it wasn't my grandmother who died, but thanks anyway!).

If the engine is mechanically sound and the rest of the drivetrain is OK, then there may be some help available. Bill is the one you need to get with on that issue though because he's the one who actually does the tuning.

If you visit their home page (Power Hungry Performance - Feed your hunger for POWER! Check out our Gryphon Programmer for Ford vehicles! (http://www.powerhungryperformance.com)), just keep calling that number.

Sorry I'm of no help to you, but Bill will have some ideas for sure.

Yes a contribution test was done & passed. This is at 2 lbs boost & then on up there is more missing - shudder. I have talked to Brian at BTS & he says it`s not the tranny. I will see if I can talk to Bill. Thanks , T.Tolle

Do you have a stock tranny? I have seen a lot of these trucks exeperence torque converter chatter, you could have a slipping clutch.

Also I had a friends truck that had a slight shutter, and it turned out to be a cracked ring. Un do your oil fill cap while it's runnig and see if it's puffing blow by gasses.
