That has to be the coolest jobs ever. My dad was military and after talking to his pilot buddies I wish I would have perused that career, very cool.:D

Sweet just make sure not to piss off your crew chief. I had a pilot come out and was being a real prick so I red X'd the jet and told him to find another. He said that I couldn't do that, I told him to fly a jet with a red X and see what happens. He got another jet

Congratulations! Yes, I know what an AFSC is, having had several for 20 years.
Your starting AFSC is a "Pilot in Training", probably different wording, but means the same thing. Do you know yet where you will be going to Primary Training? I was at Laughlin AFB, in Texas.
You won't have a "dedicated" Crew Chief in the Air Force, because you don't get a plane of your own. You fly which ever one Maintenance and Ops assigns you to fly. So, you better be nice to everyone! :giggle:
Regardless, you treat the Maintainers like fellow human beings! They're out there keeping that pile of iron in flying condition in all sorts of weather and they get none of the "glory" that pilots get. Never, ever, give them a hard time! If there's a problem with the bird, just let them know and let them take care of it. You'll either fly that plane when they fix it, or you'll get another, or you won't fly.
And, if you takeoff late because you were "goofing off" somehow, you give Ops a black eye.
Now, go have fun! :)

Again thanks for the advise! I wont know where I go for training until about 100 days before I graduate, but Laughlin is definitely 1 of the 5 options that we have.
Right now I am looking forward to ring dance, which happens in about 3 weeks! :D, so ill for sure post pictures when I have it! :woot:
And any other advise please send it my way! thanks :happy-dancing:

That is outstanding. I have 36 years in and still pressing on. I have flown all 36. Do you know were you are going to pilot training? I am so old they closed Craig AFB, AL a long time ago. One piece of advise. Do not go into training with any distractions. It is very hard training and instructors can be very unforgiving. The rewards of becoming an Air Force pilot though are fantastic.:thumbs up yellow:
