hi I am interested in swapping out my 351m with a 460 and am wondering will this effect my top speed and rpm ratio? and what's a good dif gear ratio to go with for highway driving? thanks http://tapa.tk/mu/461cf500-baa5-4fc8.jpg

My dad has a 79 Bronco that he's recently upgraded with a 429. It was originally a 400-equipped vehicle that he has tried EVERYTHING on to get better fuel mileage.
The gears he went with a few years ago were 3.0:1 out of an early 80's F-150 and it seems to work really well with that gearing.
Just changing the engine won't change anything with the gearing and the 460 will likely give you a higher top speed (although anything faster than 80 in these short wheelbase trucks is spooky).

I have a 351m and well I don't have an rpm gauge but I know in sitting aroun 3500 rpm at 100 km/h
and it annoys me to hell lol I was told 3:73 gears but still unsure thanks

I'm not overly worried bout fuel mileage. I just want it to take less effort to have a higher speed
