So on my stock transmission what's the highest psi that is somewhat safe to boost launch?
And what things can I do to a stock transmission to make it better cuz a build won't be for a few years probably....
....unless I can make enough money over the summer and not spend it lol

Personally, i won't go over 5psi... cuz I don't want to break anything. (And use 4wd):skeptic:
I haven't done it yet, but there are 2 things I plan to do to stregnthen my tranny: (hopefully this summer) 1: Get a 6.0 tranny cooler. 2: Get a BTS or a John Woods Valve body, and switch the filter out when doing the valve body. I would like to eventually put in a better (3 disc) TC as well...but thats a ways off. :sigh:

I had my transmission rebuilt Jan '10. I had a BD torque converter installed, updated (older style) parts put in, and shift kit. I've done 10psi boost launches with no problems. Any more than that I would have started burnin' rubber. I wouldn't be running a tune over 75-100hp rated on a stock transmission if you want to keep that rebuild a couple of years down the road. Only thing left I want to do to it is the 6.0 transmission cooler, but I don't tow much so not a big concern right now.
Biggest reason why I have heared why JW and BTS come highly reccomended is because they cover the warranty (BTS is 3yr) with a modiified truck. I have also heard Brian will repair the transmission free outside of of the 3yr warranty....what's the point of having a warranty then??? The local transmission shop here rebuilt my transmission for $2100 and covered it with my mods with 1yr warranty.
