im looking to order my gryphon early next week but i read somewhere that a TFT reading for 99-03's is coming soon? how soon can i expect this? im thinking of ordering the gryphon w/out it cause ive wanted one for so long now but if i get mine before the TFT reading is put on, will there be a cost to update or will i need to re-do my custom tunes??? thankx, Cody

Cody,
There is never a charge for a firmware update or "canned" calibration update. If you order now, you are certainly entitled to the added features and updates as they become available.

Is there a time frame for updating TFT to the 97-03?

Not at this moment. We are trying to get the 2009 F150 code completed first. If I had to rough guess it, it's going to be a couple months. There's a bunch of code to clean up so we can also incorporate the Metric functions, Datalogging, and a few other fixes.
Take care.

Definately interested in this feature. Will it be available for the 97's? The OP mentioned 99-03 is why i ask.

It's a homemade CAI for older trucks. Here's a "How To" article on how to do it: http://www.f150online.com/forums/articles-how-tos/367785-do-yourself-intake-modification-1997-2003-f-150-a.html In it, there's also a link to the original "Gotts" intake that was posted by gotts2beme.

I have read about the cable concern with the evo cable and PHP discontinueing the Gryphon on the 97-03 model. Will this delay any chance of a TFT reading update for these??? Thanks, kingme03:cheesy smile:

I am just checking again to see if anything is possible on the TFT readings for the 97-03 gryphons. I am still very interested in seeing if this will be able to come to life. Thanks
p.s. my Gryphon upgrade is still awesome and worth every penny!!!:happy-dancing: Thanks again, kingme03

I definitely agree that I am very interested in a TFT PID. I love the Gryphon. Best thing I have done to the truck!

is this issue gng to be addressed? or is it gonna be included on the newer, more expensive cs,cts?
i could always install a tft gauge i guess, but it would be a nice addition to the 97-03 gryphon

Sorry, There's no progress that we're aware of. Everyone agrees it would be a great feature, but no one seems to have to time or ability to do anything about it.

Someday?
This might happen but if you really need tft then find a kit.

I would agree other than i dont have anywhere to mount another gauge. Im not ready to put a pillar pod in yet.
Thats why it would be nice to read out on the LCD. Also this would be reading from the same spot in the trans that ford deams critical. Instead of in the cooler lines or oil pan.
The temps in the tranny can very a lot.

Well I talked to an Edge Rep, he actually called me back from an email i sent. He got with the engineers to see how much work it would take to recode the old evolution to accept TFT.
The engineer came back with alot of work and said that it wasnt worth it. But that they would make me a deal on my old edge so i could upgrade to th new CS or CTS model that does have the TFT.
Dang guys, this stinks.

Due to the fact of the cable issue I wouldn't think twice about their offer.
I'd go ahead and do get the upgrade.......

Lol not an option,
I have to have bills custom tunes to run my engine. I have a swapped 5.4l running on a 4.6l ecu.

Now I know why I recognize your screen name.
I would go to an auto zone, tractor supply or something and get a guage for either trans fluid, water or oil temp guage. They have different names but the scales are the same as well as how you mount the probe.

How do you recognize my screen name?
Im not to big on mounting another gauge in my cab. Id rather buy a new tuner from bill. Just dont have the Green for it as of now.
