Nice!

I installed the tunes today, 80HP LT, 80HP DD, 100HP Performance and of course I had to drive the latter of the 3 right away:happy-dancing:

I drove up and over some local hills on a 20 mile loop. I averaged ~4mpg better than the equivalent Edge tune! The shifting seemed smoother as well as the power throughout the 0 - 70mph range (lots of corners on that loop). It won't take long with the fuel prices to have that one tune pay for all three. I'm excited to try the 80HP Daily Driver tune to see what gains I get (mpg) there. I'm sitting at 19+ mpg right now if the initial numbers are true, using the 100HP performance tune.

Needless to say, I'm happy as can be :woot:

Thank you PHP! Cody! Bill! Corey!

Sincerely,

Kevin

That makes me happy to hear! for multiple reasons, mainly because I want that kind of mileage out of my truck, but also because you enjoyed the product :cheesy smile:, what mpg's did you originally get?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but if you're looking at the overhead display, you are going to be disappointed when you figure out the mileage on paper.

Aftermarket tuning skews that reading pretty badly.

agreed.. if you keep your foot out of it you can get better mileage though..

I was using the Gryphon "EcoAvg" for comparison (the delta) to come up with ~4 mpg.

With the standard Edge Tow Safe (un-hitched) I was getting low 15's, with the Edge performance tune I was getting just under 16 (15.7 - 16.1) and the first indications with the 100hp performance I was getting 19.7. This is obviously a moving average of some kind since it is a little volatile but I thought that the delta's would be reasonably accurate. Not true Cody?

True dietoremain!

On the CTS, there's a "Mileage Coach" option to show instantaneous mpgs vs avg mpgs. I've got mine showing the difference between the two, so it was fun seeing the mileage coach go to -18 when I nailed it coming up one of the hills around here (google claims it to be a max 23% grade...little easier in the truck than on my bike..;)).

My advice is to run a few tanks through it keeping track of miles driven and gallons used. That's it.

my 01 excursion has the overhead display.... tha reads mpg. well with the edge juice with attidude on drive mode the overhead display would tell me i would average 19.9 mpg. that was reset when i filled my tank and then 350 miles later. when i filled up again i did the math and i actually only got 17 mpg. so i took the whole edge juice off the truck and the over head readout is back to normal reading about 16.9mpg. this is all withthe same 350 miles i drive for work every week. i filled up and with the truck with no tuning the over head said 16.9 and my actuall calculated mpg is 16.7mpg. so in stock form its pretty accurate. I just prdered a 6 pos chip from PHP so ill put it in there and drive the same 350 miles and report back what it does to the overhead display and the actuall mpg in the 65dd and then ill do a test in the 80dd.

if you get some actuall numbers from the manual calculation way i would be curious to see how much your overhead display or gryphon thingy is off.

My daily drive to work is 60mi one way from the gas station. Sometimes in the morning I'll fill up my truck with the same pump at the same fill rate (first catch on the gas pump so it doesnt foam as much) and I top it off to the even dollar amount. I drove to and from work (120mi round trip) and topped off my truck again at the same pump with the same pumping rate...to get the same amount of fuel in there...ideally. I drive with the 140hp tune 95% of the time and my hand calculation was 16.9mpg which was the same as the OHD:shrug:

ChrisCNC, is your truck 4x4 or 2x4?

yours is the first ive seen with the ohd being right on... my gasser dodge is close but always off by about .3 or .4 mpg. ive got about 200 miles on this tank so far with the new php tunes in the 80hp dd mode so about another day or so and ill hit 350 again and go to the pump and see. so far the over head display is reading 18.7 mpg. it would be nice if its close to being on, that would be over 2 mpg difference over stock, but im not holding my breath, im thinkin probly only gettin 17mpg just judging on where the fuel needle is right now as compared to usuall.

alrght just filled up again. my overhead display was reading that i averaged 18.3 mpg. my hand calculated mpg is 17.5. so it is off by a little more than half a mpg. not to bad. and that is also a 1 mpg improvment over stock. that was mostly all in the 65hp dd tune. this tank will be all in the 80hp dd tune and will also be a 1800 mile round trip from northern michigan to memphis tn. not towing anything and probly oing to average 70 mph so we'll see...

Mine does best if I keep the rpm under 2000, that's about 68 mph in my truck
