I'm having surgery this morning (gastric bypass) and I'm pretty nervous about it. I've never had surgery before. I'll post when I'm able, probably Tuesday evening.

Hey everybody! Thanks for all the responses! I'm home now, and the worst part so far was the first few hours after the surgery. I feel pretty good now, and as long as I take my hydrocodone, I'm not in any pain. Even when it wears off it's not as bad as I thought it would be. I've been drinking my clear liquids, and it only takes 3 oz. to make me feel full. Heck, I lost 13 lbs. last week just being on that stinkin' liquid diet.

I can't wait for those pounds to fall off! Once again, thanks to everyone who replied.

Wait a couple of days then make sure the pain meds are there. Just don't over do anything just because you "feel" good.
Happy that the surgery went well.
Still sending thoughts and prayers that your recovery goes just as well!

Fantastic to hear you're recovering nicely!

Surgery is a funny thing. I've had two hernia surgeries. The first one I was absolutely miserable. Couldn't move for days! The second one I was up and around that afternoon.

Hope all continues to go well and you feel back normal soon.

Take care and God bless.

Yeah, the first 5 or 6 hours after surgery were the worst part. They had me up and walking two hours after getting out of recovery and into my room. I'm just a little sore now, like I got hit in the stomach a few times.

The bad part NOW is they said I can't drive for two weeks

Oh yeah, if anyone wants to see, here's my "before" picture, I am 5'8" and in this pic I weighed around 350 lbs.
