Checking my glow plugs last weekend I noticed black soot around where the donut goes. And if I'm not mistaken, the donut has fallen down the up pipe. But I'm not sure if thats possible if the flange is bolted up?? Anywas, I found the Felpro donut. How many do I need to do both up pipes...4? And does anyone have a diagram of the up pipes. I know bellowed up pipes are the best fix, but those are out of the question at the moment. Thanks

You just need doughnuts to do the job, also you might want to grab a set of turbo o-rings. Removing the turbo is not a requirement, but can really save you some grief.

Have patience, sometimes the up pipe bolts can seize up....so take your time and use plenty PB Blaster. Be sure to use anti-seize on everything when you re assemble, it will make life much easier next time you have to tear into it.

Good Luck!

Thanks 907Dave. I bought new donuts and up-pipes from Ford. I'm going to start soaking the bolts in Aero-Kroil and swap it out week after next. That way I'll be back home in Alabama and my dad has a machine mill and drill press if I break a bolt off in the y-collector. And we have a Ford diesel tech 5 miles down the road...just in case.
