Northern, they are 285/65/18 bfg at's. Sometimes I wish I would have went with 305's but I bought them when gas prices were soaring and from previous lifted trucks I knew that 33x12.5's put a dent in the gas mileage. I've enjoyed the tires so far though...they ride nice and aren't loud. They are definately a good compromise between stock and 33x12.5's.

Interesting about sunroofs. I have one on the f150, as well as on my other, much older car, a Honda. I sort of loved it at first and enjoyed driving around with the cover open so the sun could shine in. I didn't like opening it because it was noisy. Then, on my Honda, I decided the sun was too bright shining in, so I tinted it (myself - and I did a good job if I DO say so!). Now, I never use it and I don't know that I've ever opened the one on my f150 at all. I bought the truck in a private sale and would not have looked for this feature, but they are "standard" on the KR.

So, they look sexy, but I'm not a fan. I enjoy having it though, even though I don't use it. (Is this stupid or what)? I guess I see it as a sort of "status symbol", but not good for much else. I know there are people who love them and use them (talked to one of these guys yesterday), but they're just a decoration to me.

And, Northern SuperCrew, your truck's really purty! Wish mine was white!

Not at all Jack. I feel the exact same way about not being a fan. I love that sun roof but probably have only used it MAYBE 1/2 dozen times in the 3.5 years I've owned it. One things for sure though, anyone who has never been in my truck and gets in for the first time always says something like "Oh wow, this thing has a sunroof too!" :hehe:

Although I kind of wish I didn't have one now. Instead I think I would have like to have had that cargo rail system thing-a-ma-jig. Those look pretty neat:thumbsup:

white wasn't even my first choice...was looking at a 08 red FX4 and the salesman kinda steered me towards it....but i'm liking it more and more. i drive 3 white fords at work all week.

I've never had a truck with one so I guess that is what draws me to it. I use my rear sliding glass window daily because it's warm here most of the year.

You created a gallery right?

Go to your gallery and view it. On the top it has the option to upload. Click on upload. You can browse your pictures and click on the one you want. Once you have chosen the pics you want click on upload. Sit back and wait. It may take a few minutes. Once they are uploaded the screen will show the pics you uploaded and ask if you want to save changes. Save changes. Then you can view your album and click on the pic you want to display in the thread. Click on the "IMG" bar. Right click and copy. Then paste into the thread.

Does this make any sense?

Nice work on the grill and the headlights, johnnyd. Did you paint the heads or did you buy new ones that were black?

Have you considered putting stealth bulbs in for the parking lights? I did on mine and I really like the way it got rid of the "amber" look. I'd like to do something similar with the side marker lights, but that would involve buying new headlight assemblies, and I'm just too cheap to do it. :)

I found a honeycomb lower grill that pretty much goes with my King Ranch H-Bar upper grill. Having a grill in that lower opening really fixes the "gaping hole" effect, doesn't it?

Thanks

I bought those heads off of e-bay, pretty cheap too. I have the Sylvania Silver Star bulbs for the heads but have not switched the amber turns (I should though huh?). Aren't the Stealth bulbs blue? Of course this spring I will be switching the heads out with my brand new oem HD head lights that are sitting in the basement right now. :woohoo:

Actually, I have the honeycomb grill in the lower section that I got from www.f150store.com for 28 bucks(it's still on just behind the horizontal grill). Is that were you got yours from? Perfect match and installs with clips in about 4 minutes

thanx, i put them in the oven and separated them. the ones on the tailgate are the before shot. i would have gone darker but was worried about light output. that is plain old krylon gloss black in there. i kinda f'ed up the holes where the bulbs go in..left them in the oven a little too long:doh: oh well, nothing a little bit of silicone can't fix.:yesnod:

You're thinking of the Silverstar parking lights. The Stealth bulbs are silver coated, but glow amber when on. They're kind of like mirrored sunglasses. I finally got around to posting a few pictures in my "album". The last shot shows the effect pretty well. No amber look in the daytime. I'd like to get rid of the amber in the running light lenses too, but that's a whole new headlight housing, and right now I've got other things to spend money on.

There are many sources for Stealth bulbs; here's one: http://autolumination.com/3157_3156.htm Look about 3/4 down the page for the 3156 or 3157 Silver Vision bulbs. These are dual- filament Parking/Turn Signal bulbs and they are 3157s. Their prices are good and they ship quickly. I've ordered some LEDs from them and have been happy.

I think I MAY have gotten the honeycomb lower grill from f150store. I know it didn't cost much and went on very easily. I don't think I had it installed when I took that picture. Guess I need to retake it, huh?

Nice work on the headlights Northern! I'd consider Stealth bulbs in your parking light housings too. (I don't have stock in the company - honest! I just don't like the amber look on the front of our trucks).

I've really thought long and hard about painting the inside of my heads black. I finally came to the conclusion that with my color truck and the King Ranch trim, I liked the silver better. But, I think black is the way to go on a white or black truck - no question at all! :2thumbs:

Do you have an account on Photobucket? http://photobucket.com/ You can join for free, upload any picture you'd like, edit it to make it small enough and then, in the User CP add an ".IMG" file to your signature.

There may be other, easier ways to do this, but this is what I did to put my truck's picture in my sig. One caution, if you delete the photobucket picture, it goes away in your sig (or any other post that you used it too).

Northern Supercrew did this to post the pictures of his truck in this thread.

I painted my head lights as well.Pretty easy to do and the actual hd ones cost way too much.I did buy the actual HD tail lights though because my trash can jumped out in front of me when I was backing out of the drive way and it cracked the whole tail light. Here is a pic of my powerstroke .Its only got 2inch pro comp leaf springs in the front and 33's on 16x10 welds but it will have a lot more done including lifting by summer.
