Well here is my situation I bought a truck used and have since found that it has a mix of parts from at least 2 different model years. The truck is a 2002 F-250 4x4 superduty extended cab. However I was cleaning the motor and it has a 2000 model build tag on it. So to make sure of what I had, pulled the plug on the side of the block and it has forged rods(so I assume the tag on the motor is correct). I don't know what year or family the pcm is (haven't looked yet) or how to tell what year transmission it is or if it has been modified or not.
I want to tune my own truck which leads me to looking at the minotaur tuning package. Also considered the FU chip but then I lose the ability to tune my own truck.
Is the mix of parts going to add any complications to tuning or is it just find out what you have and go from there?
also is it possible to purchase a couple tunes in addition to the package to get some instant gratification and work on my own tunes at my own pace? (probably a question for someone at php)
any opinions comments thoughts.
thanks
kenneth
