Emailed Bill with no response so I figured I would try here. I have a dumb question. I recently bought a truck and the PO had the E4OD rebuilt by a local transmission shop. He had an upgraded transmission cooler added, billet torque converter, and supposedly some valve body work done. I think I should run custom tunes (I plan on getting the Phoenix). Should I contact the shop that did the work and find out EXACTLY what they did or is this enough information for you? If I need to ask them questions what do I need to find out for you? I plan on ordering my chip this week so hopefully we can get this worked out. Thanks a lot for any help you can give me.

I would bet that you should get the shop to tell you exactly what they did... 2 reasons, 1: it will make tuning easier, 2: It will be good to know for the future.

Okay so I am assuming that that means that I need custom tuning? Also what do I need to ask then? As in, what they did to modify the valve body and what not? Just so I ask the right questions, and get the right info. Thanks for the reply.

I don't know if you need custom tunes or not... but they will never hurt to have. I would say that yes, figure out what they did. There are a number of things that they could do so yeah, ask exactly what they did, if they installed a kit or did modifications in shop, or see what else they may have done.

The billet converter is of little importance. If the rest is just a minor valve body mod or shift kit, the standard tunes will be fine. We have tuning that already supports simple shift kits and those fall under the "standard tunes" category.
