Default Is Autoenginuity fully compatible with OBS 7.3's?

I know this is a question that is gonna be asked, and I figured I would own the first post in this forum by asking...

Is Autoenginuity able to run the buzz test and cylinder contribution test on OBS 7.3L motors? Also would we be able to pull up the pressure output of our HPOP?

I know I want one, just would like to know how compatable it is with our old 7.3l computers.

As per the AE Website:

Enhanced Interfaces Available with the AutoEnginuity ScanTool:
Enhanced Ford Interface (1994+) - included in "Total Ford Bundle" (Required for use with Powerstroke applications)
Although Ford does implement the largest subset of the OBDII standard compared to any other manufacturer, the typical vehicle only supports 20 - 40 sensors and is limited to emissions powertrain. Using the enhanced Ford interface, a typical Ford vehicle will support 200 - 300 sensors within half a dozen systems; that's essential systems like ABS, airbags, GEM, etc.

The AE enhanced Ford interface coverage is only matched by factory tools; we have support for 2800+ sensors selected from all 68 systems. The Ford enhanced interface has support for Ford of Europe models such as Ka, Mondo, Galaxy, Fairlane, etc. Finally, our Ford enhanced has support for bi-directional commands and system level tests. With bi-directional controls, you will no longer be relegated to being just an observer in the operation of the vehicle--now you can take control of its operation.

System Tests:
  • KOEO
  • KOER
  • EVAP Bay Test
  • Service Bleed
  • Buzz Injector
  • Cylinder Contribution Test
  • Switch
  • Glow Plug Test
  • System Self-Test
  • Hi Speed Fan
  • Lo Speed Fan
  • KAM Reset
  • Power Seat Calibration Test
  • Audio Network Communication Test
  • Vehicle In-Motion IO Test
  • Front Wiper Self-Test
  • Rear Wiper Self-Test
  • All Outputs On/Off

*Does not support Mercury Villager, Ford F150 '96, Windstar 3.0L '96 - '98, and UBP controllers on some late model Lincolns.

NOTE: AutoEnginuity may not work properly on 1994 and some Early 1995 Powerstroke trucks unless the computer has been reflashed to the latest PCM code for that particular model truck. This is because some of the early PCM programming didn't properly support the OBDII standards.

So basically, as long as you're running the 96 or 97 ECM strategies, you shouldn't have any problems.

I've used AE on my own OBS plus a half dozen others and it has worked great each time. Awesome software! It even worked on a 96 F150 that it's not supposed to work on.

Set the INIT to "Non-OBD II" and the protocol to "J1850PWM"...the OBS doesn't like the "auto-detect" function. A quote from Dennis @ ITP.
