Default OBS 7.3 Auto E - ECT Vs. EOT

what is up with AutoE and it showing Engine Coolant Temp on a '96 Power Stroke?
I'm troubleshooting a low rpm low power issue and noticed this over the Labor Day weekend. Is it calculated strictly by EOT, or something else?

The 7.3L DOES NOT use engine coolant temp for anything besides a gauge reading.

EOT is what all timing/fueling rates are based on.

I guess if you really want to get technical, the manual transmission trucks DO use the engine coolant temperature to decide when to go into power reduction (overheat) mode. No idea why the manual transmission trucks do this but the autos don't.
