Default Auto Enginuity question.

Hello everyone.
Can AE single out a cylinder and turn off the injector for diagnosis?
Similar to simply pulling the valve cover and unplugging the injector in question, then running the engine.
I spent some time on thier website and couldn't find any information about that.

Oh, well.
I'll just have to pull the VC's then.
I'm suspicious of an idle speed engine knock on #8 that sounds like injector knock, but at the same time I can hear a slight knock on decel, 1300-1500 rpm that makes me think it is in the piston/con rod assembly.
So I need to kill that injector somehow for diagnosis.

Aw, just cut the wire and then use a scotch-lock to splice it back together....

I know you know better than that.

Well....no.....not really. It's more of a love to hate kind of relationship.

For example.

I LOVE customers that come in with inoperative tail lights, brake lights, or trailer lights because some idiot put scotch locks in the truck's taillight wiring to put in a trailer plug.

THEN......

I have to cut out 3 feet of the truck's wiring to find conductors that aren't green or black so solder will stick to it.

Hey, I LOVE scotch locks because I get straight time to fix the electrical problems they cause. CHA-CHING!!

Wire nuts are a great way to splice into automotive wiring too.

I used to spend a FORTUNE with Wurth for heat shrinkable, sealed butt connectors for those small repairs where it wasn't feasible to solder. Man were those ever nice, but very pricey. Outside of that, heat shrink and solder are the ONLY way to go.

Wire nuts?
