An easy way to tell is that the firing order IS NOT going to have a sequence that goes from one bank to the next.
What I'm saying is that if the test goes in the firing order, you'll get two cylinders on the same bank that "buzz" one after the next. If you stand over the engine while doing the buzz test, either you'll get a R-L-R-R-L-R-L-L (which would be the firing order) or you'll simply get a R-L-R-L-R-L-R-L (which would be 1-8 in order). |

Hope im not questioning your intelligence here..but this is how i need it explained to me to grasp it the first time
but what i read and seen on a video (cant remember where just yet) ... the first buzz would come from the number one cylinder, second buzz from the number 2 and so on.. if the 4 rth buzz is the one that sounds odd. Then the number 4 cylinder would be the one to look at. If you need a chart on the cylinder number positions, i might have it in my computer somewhere here.
