Hi guys I recently purchased AE with the Ford bundle. I am a dealership tech just trying to get away from needing the vcm that is always being used somewhere else. My question/complaint is that on 05-07 six liters it will give false codes not report valid codes. I have been in touch with AE but to tell you the truth I have no idea what Jay is talking about. So I was wondering if anyone else was having troubles. Also if you dont have ids to check the accuracy of what AE is tell you. You can go to pid data monitoring and #of continous codes will be correct.

Please, elaborate! I'd like to know what you've got going on and what the deficiencies are. If you can let me know what you're experiencing, I'd be happy to talk to AE and see what their opinion is on the issue.

Bill I have a lot of examples. I have emailed AE a couple log files. Here is an example 06 six liter AE reported P0470 P2200 cont pid showed 3. Ids reported P0470 P2269 P2291. The P2200 is not a valid code. AE will also report P0200 prety often witch also is bogus. If you could ask them about it I would appriciate it. Jay is who I have been talking to. He says I am the only one reporting a problem. Well how many people have access to both systems?

That's precisely it... not many people do have access to an IDS, WDS, or other scan-tool so they don't know that there's anything up with it.

Let me ask, have you had this problem with 1 particular vehicle or is it a problem on a number of vehicles? This may be a tougher question to answer, since it requires vehicles with DTCs. I just like to have as much info as possible.

I have 4 specific examples from different trucks. It seems to be 05-07 trucks. I had the opertunity to check an 05 E series six liter and it worked ok but we dont see that many E series so may have been a fluke. Do you think I should load the software on another computer and give that a try?

I actually have an '05 6.0L for work and have scanned it with AE numerous times. The dealer never sees the same DTCs I see and I've always caulked it up to "bull$hit" on their end. Hmmm....

What codes are you getting? Is the dealer telling you what they are getting?

I know several people that have AE and no known issues like this. On a positive not for me is I can have Jay come look at whats going on if there is a problem. He is just across town.
