Default Can't connect to E99

I am trying to connect AE to an E99 truck and not having any luck.

I can connect to my 99.5 and other vehicles just fine.

Any suggestions?

I haven't had any trouble with the AE on an E99. You might want to contact Auto Enginuity about it at AutoEnginuity® - OBD2 Scan Tool - Professional PC and PDA Diagnostics . I'm pretty sure the J1850PWM protocol is right since I've never had to change it to diagnose an E99....heck, I just did a buzz test on one last Sunday.

I know that the 95-97 trucks sometimes require you to set non-OBD2 compliant mode, but E99s should still be set at OBD2 compliant.

I can't offer any more assistance than that since I haven't run into that situation. Good luck!

Check the cigarette lighter for power. I am thinking the two use the same fuse. Do other scanners hook up?

Try choosing 1998, that what I've done in the past.

I too cannot connect to my Early 99 7.3 Powerstroke F350, I get a message saying due to the weight of my truck it is non OBDII compliant.

Are you guys selecting F250/F350 E350 for the model??? If you have a diesel you have to scroll to the bottom and select the 7.3 diesel option. its after all the listed vehicle models

Yes I listed my truck as a F350. After paying for all this thing is useless. I have tried several times to get it to read my truck but keep getting the same message. I will try it again, do I need the CD in my laptop for it to work right?

Go into the communications configuration menu under the "vehicle" tab. Change the vehicle interface type to J1850 VPW and initialization type to "non OBD-2 only".

Try J1850 PWM if VPW doesn't work.

I agree on my 97 F350 PSD the manual says non OBDII, then when trying to connect it says it needs OBDII compliant. You spend 360 bucks you should be able to get in atleast!!!!!! Keeps coming up with the same error saying you need to change the selection, so I change it and same thing. And if that isn't bad enough there is NO tech support on the weekends which is the only time most of us can work on our vehicles.
