Default Thinking

Can a real computer idiot use the AE. Would really like to know what's going on in my truck but I hesitate not knowing if I'll be able to use the thing without someone to walk me through & answer all the PIA questions I'm sure to have. Just hate to spend the $$ then not be able to use the doggone thing.

Really, CJ, unless you know what you're looking at or looking for.......

.......all of the people on FTE that run cylinder contribution tests every five minutes just to come up with #3 and #8 "normal" codes and then spend $65,000 trying to fix a non-existent problem.

There really is a lot of stuff there that really doesn't amount to beans unless you have a problem and know what to look for.

Thanks Cody, that's kinda what I am thinking as far as having something that would probably overwelm me. Marty is not far from me & he knows how to use his & I figure he would be able to diagnose it if I had a problem

I didn't mean to say that it would overwhelm you, CJ. It's just that spending that kind of cash on something that you may not even use.......

Oh no Cody I didn't take it that way at all, & yes it probably would (overwhelm) me...lol I couldn't even spell the word correctly. It was just after riding in a truck with Marty the other week & seeing the things that he was checking made me think that it would be great to see the things like HPOP press, the ICP #'s etc. but then again what he charges to go through one is very reasonable & in my case it would take forever to get my $$ worth out of it. I do have the auto part store reader that works good on the wifes car so I think I'd be better served putting that money aside for injectors...lol BTW I'll probably be bugging you soon on opinions on the inj subject. I did get a good chuckle out of your comment about the contribution test, I really get a kick out of all the CPS blah-blah over there. H-ll sometimes I have to check to make sure I'm not on a space shuttle site...lol Thanks for your thoughts & hope all is going good on your end.
