New laptop. same activation code?
I had to get a new laptop, can I use my original activation code?

Nope.
Different hardware profile. Even after my computer crash a couple weeks ago, using the same XP disk and programs after the format (thankfully I was able to save most of them), I still had to get new registration codes for everything.
