Has anyone else installed the wicked wheel and noticed a loss in boost? Highest I'm seing in boost now is 20psi on average. I peaked 22psi at WOT. With the factory wheel I was hitting 28-30psi. I'd like to make a boost leak detector and see if I find anything. How much air pressure can you charge the system with? I don't see why you cant go 30 psi since thats what the turbo can push. I think on of the clamps at the bottom of the Y pipe on the driver side has been loose since I've owned the truck.

The power seems more smooth...no surge. It whistles loud for a couple of seconds, then it quitens up a bit at the same boost level. Now I'm wondering if that loose clamp was what I was actually hearing instead of a turbo surge. I'd hate to put the factory wheel back in just to find out. Thanks

Not sure why you would drop that much boost, but the WW does flow less compared to stock.

I would check for boost and exhaust leaks since you just had it apart.

You should be able to hear any leaks after about 5psi, but you can pressure it up to 25ish if you wanted. Make sure if you do this that you are pressurizing right at the turbo. If you pressure up the CC breather you are going to blow some seals out.

Good Luck!

I've done the ccv mod (open vent). But doing it at the turbo sounds better anyways. Just curious, what's the danger a going above 25psi at the turbo?

No problem, but you should be able to find a leak waaay before 25.
