What position should the key be in when I plug the programmer in?
When you are installing your Gryphon? Programmer, the ignition key must ALWAYS be in the "ON" position and the engine should NOT be running. The reason for the key to be on is so that the programmer can properly identify the PCM calibration code. Otherwise, PCM identification will fail and when it comes time to program the PCM the programmer will respond with "Error F1 - PCM not supported."

If you should forget to have the ignition key in the "ON" position when plugging the programmer in, don't worry. Simply make sure the ignition key is on, disconnect the programmer cable from the OBD-II port, and the reconnect the cable. On initial bootup the programmer will display the identified calibration "HEX" code.
