Thanks Corey

cleatus12r That thing is a monsta! whats the deal with the SD? Looks untouched

did Bill ever buy the one with 15kmiles or whatever?

cleatus12r Mon, August 3rd, 2009 10:04 PM

Yeah......

I sold that 95 for a song. I had to have a truck that was useful and the "monster truck" wasn't that truck. :sigh:

I haven't done anything like that since........

The 01 is a work truck.

bamboo Tue, August 4th, 2009 02:17 PM

Here's a cell phone shot a while ago. Not the best resolution but is works. Mods include: 3" downpipe to 4" exhaust, 6637 Napa air filter, EGT and boost gauge, and will have Phoenix module installed tomorrow courtesy of my Minotaur software. Very happy with it. Last 3 fuel fill ups have averaged 20+ with 4.10 gears and 5 speed manual.

Oasis, Nice truck, Diggin the console too
How easy is it to shift with it? any way to move it back a little maybe ..?

Pretty sweet..

oasis04 Thu, November 19th, 2009 04:14 AM

Shifting is not a problem at all. the only restriction is you cant put a big cup like in the pic into the left side cup holder. if it were moved back then the arm rest would be to far back for me, as well as it is mounted in the factory holes so the alignment was kinda predetermined with the seat rail position.

BadDogPSD Fri, November 20th, 2009 07:01 PM

Hmmm, I think I might have to swap out my center seat for one of those!

How was the install? Any tips?

oasis04 Mon, November 23rd, 2009 09:37 AM

seriously it was the easiest install for me. I do not have a power seat so I have two parrallel bars which happens to match the dimension of the bolt hole in th console. All I had to do was center it between seat and center punch bolt holes drill and bolt up. I did not hook up the power points yet. Prep work took much longer than the actual install. It comes tan so I died it gray, then had to assemble the console. Remove old seat consolw, vacuum, assemble console, install and reinstall seat floor bolts took maybe 1.5 hrs and that includes a couple of smoke breaks.

The history....

Well the truck was a dually when I bought it. White with a metallic dark blue stripe.
Didn't need a dually, just got a good deal on it, so I swapped the rear axle, bed, and front hub/rotors. The new bed was a different color and my factory paint on the cab looked like crap.

So I did some body work on the bed, primered it, painted everything white, and I love the white with red stripe look...

So I did the cab with the red... but then the weather got bad and I hanv't had a chance to finish. I don't have a garage or a shop to work in.

oasis04 Wed, November 25th, 2009 07:14 PM

Semper Fi!!!

How did you apply the white to the front grill? did you spray over the chrome or get a black xl grill to paint?

I was thinking of whiting my grill out.

oasis04 Thu, November 26th, 2009 12:31 AM

I have a 95 xl 1/2 ton maybe I could swap them out and paint the xl grill and bezel and put the chrome on th 150?

ChuckD Thu, November 26th, 2009 12:56 AM

Yes you can do that. What color is yours? I did mine with the Krylon plastic paint, it matches up pretty good. Cant tell a difference 20 ft away.

oasis04 Thu, November 26th, 2009 01:36 AM

My diesel is white. My 1/2 ton is dark green with a hint of oxidation.

Yut! Semper Fi!

I used a adhesion promoter, and then white krylon plastic paint over the chrome XLT grill (my chrome was halfway gone anyways).

It was good for a coupld months but then it's starting to flake off the chrome parts now. I'd get a XL grill and do it if you want to go that route.

I actually am wanting to go back to the chrome grill, either stock XLT chrome, ALL chrome stock grill (looks sweet), or a billet grill

Your Marines and not patient:disbelief: Actually it wasnt that bad I had the whole thing done in a couple hours. Its easier to overlap the tape and then use a hobby knife and trim it out, that part took me a whole 30 minutes.

cleatus12r Thu, April 15th, 2010 10:27 PM

Since the divorce seems immenent, I had to get my own powerstroke while surrendering my '01 Super Duty to the ex.

Here's how she looks right now, first day home. 223K miles, auto.

http://i641.photobucket.com/albums/u...r/DSCN2388.jpg
http://i641.photobucket.com/albums/u...r/DSCN2387.jpg
http://i641.photobucket.com/albums/u...r/DSCN2386.jpg

So far I've put two idler pulleys on it (dead bearings), changed all fluids, greased everything, adjusted the IVS switch stop (3/8" of travel before releasing!!!) and made a quickie 5-minute tune for it since the Superchips programmer is going bye-bye (and I now know why I preferred the Evo. that I used to have over the Superchips ).
I remembered why I hate 4.10 gears too.

F-127 Thu, April 15th, 2010 11:07 PM

Nice looking rig Cody. I wouldn't have guessed it had 223k by the looks of it. I was wondering how long that superchips programmer would last when I saw it.:giggle:

4.10s haven't disappointed me too much, I'm impressed with my mileage and towing ability. Granted, the majority of my driving is around 60mph.

The clearcoat on the hood is coming off, the LR corner of the box has had some body work (see incorrect paint scheme), and the driver's door has a dent. EVERYTHING works though. As for the programmer....it added fuel (and by looking at the programming, that's ALL it did  ). It'll get put on craigslist or ebay one day.

4.10s haven't disappointed me too much, I'm impressed with my mileage and towing ability. Granted, the majority of my driving is around 60mph.That's the key right there....60-62 MPH.

It is what it is and after looking at 6 trucks, this one seemed like the best deal. I did have to make a bypass valve for the oil filter housing since the original was long gone.....

cleatus12r Fri, April 16th, 2010 10:25 PM

I guess now I have to decide on injectors....not that there's anything wrong with the stockers yet except that they're a little "weak". I think I'll get ahold of Jim Rose and see about some 238/80's one of these days. Bye bye E4OD.
