Books and other Texts on tuning?

Probably a question for Bill but others may know, are they any good books, or websites, other texts out on Diesel tuning and/or modern diesel engine design. I have a good text that covers the run of the mill diesel tech see below. Have not found anything specific to tuning diesels.
Anything on PCM design and programming may be interesting too.
this was a text I got when I took a diesel engines class at local college.

Diesel Engine and Fuel System Repair 5th Ed. by Bagel and Brady.

Honestly, everything I've learned has been through trial and error. I'm just one of those fortunate people that just seem to grasp tuning.

I know SCT has a really good book on Gas Tuning written by Chris Johnson, Jerry Wroblewski, and a couple other guys. I don't know if they really offer anything for the diesels, but you might ask.

As for PCM design, I don't know what to tell you there. There really isn't much information available since much of it is proprietary.

I will offer you this from Tom Cloud's school website:

Pay particular attention to the page on EEC-IV Fuel Injection and especially to this one document, which is a breakdown of the Ford EEC-IV Processor:

EECTech98.pdf

Really good stuff and was a basis for a lot of what I learned on the electronics end of things. Hope you've got a couple days with nothing to do!

Enjoy. :2thumbs:

The book I am reading that has helped me is Engine Management Advanced Tuning. Author is Banish and published by Car Tech. I got it at my local Barnes and Nobles. It is a recommended read.

Jerry Wroblewski signed my computer! He said I was the first person to ask that of him :)
