So I'm looking at getting a used 7.3 no hpump or injectors and heat cracks in pistons for $850?
And I big oil for 1750?
What do y'all think on prices? High, low, just right?

Are you wanting this truck to get back to driving? Sounds like a good price for a parts truck. I wouldn't touch it. No telling from here what kind of condition the drivetrain.

The forged rods are left I have pmr's and that way I can just rebuild it then it my injectors and hpump on it but the price seems high

Honeslty, unless you are doing some crazy build for competition, I would say it's really not worth the money.

You can go 400-450(MAX) on PMR's, and Forged only gives you an aditional 100HP, but you would have to have everything else upgraded first,HPOP, fuel delivery, Stage 2 injectors, bigger turbo, custom tuned, etc.

And unless you alredy have the money/ability to pull the engine and rebuild yourself, I would say it isn't worth the dough. IMHO.

Well I already have the turbo a garrett ball bearing and my goal is 500 but I guess I could wait lol I'm young not too much of a rush. What stage injectors would get me to the 400-450 range?

I believe 350 RWHP is the MAX with stock sticks... I'm no expert, but I believe for much over 400 you need stage 2's and all the goodies to go along with them.

I'm still a novice, so please bear with me. What rods do the folks with the huge HP and TQ numbers use??

Most the guys I know that are around 500 HP have stock forged rods. But either late in 2000 or in 01 they went to pmr (powder metal rods). The pmr's break easier under high cylinder pressures. Some with forged rods get them cryo treated. It makes them stronger. This is why I want either a new block or do a rod swap so I can hit my 500 HP goal cuz the truck I have has pmr's.
500hp really isn't that hard to hit just about 10-15k depending on turbo u go with. Injectors, trans, Turbo, head studs, Hpump, and ur there! If u go with hybrid injectors I believe u can stick to ur stock pump but an upgraded one is better.
I am no export this is just stuff I've learned over time surfing forums lol and asking questions and there are u stupid questions!
