AIS with Tuner

I have heard that it is bad to run a tuner with the AIS (per manufacturer). What is the official standing of PHP and people who perhaps have the AIS?

I've got the AIS on mine with Bill's tunes

No problems at all & I've blown the carbon out of her a few times on the 120 race tune

I did put the fender sleeve on the AIS when I installed it, I don't know for sure if it was needed or not but I just figured go ahead & do the whole deal

BTW are you the fella putting up videos on FTE ?

I am going to look into both the fender sleeve and some more custom routing possibilities. The stock filter flows really well, but the box is very restrictive

I dont want that to be the case with the AIS too.

If I did the AIS fender sleeve again I would probably just use a beer can coozie instead of spending the $$ on the piece of foam, I think it cost $25 plus shipping. After putting it on the more I thought about it the more I think I could cut the foam can cooler to work just as well

Hell yes :thumbs up yellow:

Looks like it takes a lot of time an effort

As long as he's not one of the guys on PSN, right?

The "super truckers" over there can be brutal. Hey, we all start somewhere, right.. they didn't buy those over the top rigs from Ford that way.

BTW, I was interested in this thread too since I just put in a AIS. I've heard if you have the original Filter Minder, that they are less sensitive to more boost and will be less likely to get sucked down so easily compared to the one that comes with the AIS kit.

IDK for sure about the filter minder deal but I didn't like the new one that came with the AIS because of the elect plug deal on it. So one day I took the new & old one & sucked on them to see if there was much difference & they both acted the same with my "scientific" test ... haha so I put the old one w/o the elect connector on it. It's been that way for quite awhile & I see no reason to worry about it

I know Robin (PaysonPSD) has an AIS and his truck gets down the road pretty good. Low ET at RRE for the last couple of years. If you send him a PM on FTE, he might have some valuable info for you. As far as I know he hasn't had any issues with the air filter but you might want to check with him and confirm. :thumbs up yellow:
