New Edge Upgrade to Gryphon Question

Hey Guys,

Just a quick question, received my Gryphon (Upgraded my Edge) :woot: today with a custom tune (87oct Performance) request. :hmmm: Do I have to download the custom tune or is it already on the programmer. Also, I let Bill know (at time of order) that I had 37x12.5x17 tires, will this be a default or will I have to change it in custom options?

Curious :help:

If you sent your hex code in with the edge your custom tune should be on there.
In the main menu on the programmer, select [Diagnostics] -> [Tech Support] -> [Version Info]. (You can ignore the warning message that will come up). In the newer Gryphons, 04+, the "Calibration Version" should look like "0.x.xxxx" where the last 4 x's are (usually) the same as the Serial Number. If the Version number DOES begin with zero ("0"), you have custom tuned files. If the Version begins with one ("1") though, so it looks like "1.x.xxxx", then the unit has canned tunes, not custom.

Again - any calibration that looks like 0.x.xxxx is a CUSTOM build. All calibrations that begin with "1", i.e., 1.x.xxxx are CANNED calibrations in the newer model Gryphons.

But, any programmer with a Product Number that looks like --> Ex.xx.xx <-- is an older platform unit and the Power Programming Menu display cannot be changed. And, on those units, if the last 2 digits are "99" then it is always a custom file.

So, an older model Gryphon with a Product Number that looks like "Ex.xx.99" has custom tunes too.

And, you would have to verify with Bill that he actually wrote your Tire Size into your tunes. You WILL NOT be able to verify this in the Custom Options Menu. It will always load a simple placeholder value.

If you don't call Bill, you can always load your tune, skipping the Custom Options Menu and check your vehicle speed/odometer for accuracy. If it seems "close" to correct, Bill included the TS in your tunes. If you put it on the order form, he should have, but once in a while, things get overlooked.

download Pegasus question

Thanks 88Racing and JackandJanet for your responses :cheesy smile:, 88 or JackandJanet, now that I have the programmer what version of Pegasus should I download. :matt-roloff: I have 2 versions to choose from, Pegasus Update Client and Pegasus Installation and Quick-Start Users Guide. This is my first Gryphon and want to be able to stay up to date with everything PHP has to offer, software updates, etc...

One more thing...

88Racing,

Could you check with Bill (Since according to PHP Calender this is phone closure week) and see if he included the tire size I gave him as a default to my custom tune (87 Performance) or will I have to go to custom options and configure it myself. The reason I'm asking is to be sure, but also I think that if Bill could include it as a default on the programmer, as a default it should work for all options, Tune 1-Performance,Tune 2-Tow and Tune 3-Transmission Only, etc, etc...

Thank You!

Download both and the quick start guide is a read only file.

If you do have the customs on the Gryphon only use Pegasus to do data logging and splash screens don't update it.

Look at the link in my sig, its NOT a phone closure week.

Your tire size is whatever you put down on the order sheet, that's what is written in each custom tune you ordered.

BTW
I'm a remote volunteer moderator. I live a thousand plus miles away from PHP headquarters.

Thanks 88Racing,

I'll download both. FYI if you look in the calender section above it says this week is phone closure week. I'm definitely not trying to tell you your business, just trying to pass on info, maybe they closed the phones this week due to Corey having operations. I know that the link you sent me is stated what it states, but I checked the calender above, not the other area. Thanks again for all the info and have a great day!
