Help my Gryphon does NOT work

So i got my Gryphon today and i was all excited, i read the book with it front to back over a coffee of course.

I went and installed it in my truck and turned the key on. Then plugged the tuner in and it powered up.

got my Hex code. TEJF1Q6

Set my screen up like i like it then went to Menu

Select performance

I selected 2 87 Tow tune

Turned the key off.
Turned the key on when prompted.

D2 error. Truck wont accept info from the tuner.

I retried several times and tried all three tunes and always got the same D2 error. I went into Tech Support and did a communication test and it passed.

Then i redid all the setting and started the truck up and drove it around and the display works and i get all the readings im asking for but it wont load any tune at all.

When I first got mine it seems to me it wouldn't load tunes as well. If I remember correctly I hooled it up to my laptop with the Pegasus software, did an update with the Gryphon update manager and all was well. I can't remember the code it gave me but it may have been the same as yours. Worth a shot.

I see Jack is online..... he may be able to help more.

Alright thanks ill try that tomorrow or something with my laptop. I assume the software you mention the Pegasus is available online for download? Ive herd everyone talking about it but haven't seen a site to get it from yet.

Here ya go....download is here as well as step-by-step how-to. Hope this helps.

If you are running Vista you may have to disable your user account control as Vista and Pegasus don't play well together.

Ok thanks a lot. i got the software downloaded and working. Have to see if it fixes the problem. Im not to optimistic since all it says is the lastest version are already installed and any updates i try to the firmware or calibrations fail talking about server down issues.

Im guessing im getting those errors because its after 9pm eastern and there office is closed. Maybe they wont let you update after there normal business hours

Won't hurt to try it but it may be something that Bill will have to walk you thru when he gets back. I suspect it isn't anything too serious and you will b e up in no time.

Ok so latest update is it did do something when i tried to update it. When i connected it to the truck now i don't get that D2 error.

Now it will act as if it wants to update the truck.

Reading ECM
Reading Checksum files
Clearing Checksum files

then it stops and kicks out the HEX number and doesnt go any farther.

Not sure what to do with it now.

So ill have to wait till i can get ahold of Bill on Monday id expect.
But i am at least happy with the fact i can hook it up and the readings i want show on the display and work i jsut cant get the tunes to work yet lol.

In the notice posted on top of page Corey says she is shutting down computers during the storm. So thats probably why there server is down.

Help, Bill - Can't tune the PCM

Sorry, mmandley - my computer was on and one tab was connected to PHP, but I was not home.

Unfortunately, I'm not going to be any help either. Possibly Corey may be able to help you with this, but I know Bill can. I've used the "Help" needed smiley in this response to try to get their attention. Beyond that, there's not a lot I can offer.

- Jack
