Buying 2011 F250 6.2L Gasser
I currently have a 2005 Ford F150 and have a Gryphon.
Unfortunately it tows my boat like crap (thanks to the lift and tires). :( Fortunately, I got a great trade and a great price on a 2011 F250 with the 6.2L V8 Gasser. :happy-dancing: My questions are: is there a product created yet that I can use for this truck? I am willing to sell my Gryphon to a buddy that has a 2006 F150, but don't want to if this is just a conversion thing to make it work with the new truck. Is there a product being put out yet by PHP that supports these new Superduty's or should I just sell the Gryphon I currently own and wait for a new product to come out? Thanks! |
This is just my opinion it entails the recent occurings in the tuning world over the past 2 years.
The people who purchased 09-10's f150's patiently waited for tuners/programmers for about 1-2 YEARS. Edge still hasn't released anything yet. So with the purchase of the f250 6.2 gas you could possibly be in the same boat»waiting!:( Not unless Bill has a better idea of WHEN?????? Maybe not as long but the possiblity is still there. |
Because of filesize concerns, it's going to be added in the CS/CTS. The standard Gryphon doesn't have the enough memory to handle all the data storage required for the 6.2L calibrations.
Sell it to your buddy and as soon as we finish the firmware on the 6.2L we can set you up with a CS or CTS. Same goes for the 6.7L. Have files done but just waiting on Edge to finish the firmware. :2thumbs: |
Cool. Thanks for the info.

Both of those engines look like they are gonna be real nice powerplants..
When I went to the Raptor event preview and talked to the lead engineer he said they had been running it at over 100HP more than its official release with modified tuning.... Detuned of course for warranty purposes |
We recieved 6 of them(2011, F-250, 6.2L) at work the other day. I'm not a gasser fan but these trucks run pretty nice. They really come alive after 3.5k rpm. The valve covers have "ford power" or something like that cast into them. I can't wait to see what kind of mpg they return.

Averaging 15.3 so far with town and highway(75-80mph). 250, 4x4 w/3.73 diff.

any updates?
I know this thread is a few months old, but I finally had to give up on my '07 f150 screw and buy an F250 with the 6.2 gas engine. Are there any updates on when a programmer might become available?
