Trying to diagnose a "problem"...

Recently my truck started to cut out when making easy acclerations after first starting up. I've switched my Aeroforce gauge to monitor ICP and IPR duty cycle. I took picks to show what #'s I'm getting at various speeds and rpm's. None of the picks are under accleration, just cruising. I did do a quick WOT from 45-55 and I noticed ICP reading jumped to 3083 quick for a second, then down to 27XX, the back to normal cruising readings. I figured since it mainly happens after I first start up (morning and evening..evening temps being in the high 90's. TFT reading when I first start up in the evenings is already 100*.) that it may be oil related, currently running 10w-30 synthetic. Fluid levels are good. I also noticed that the transmission is lagging a little bit in its shifts when transmissions temps get up around 195* (truck fan has been kicking in). I mainly use the 140 tune becuase it is the smoothest tune for the powerband.

Now a better description of the issue. Like I said, first crank up and start driving...maybe a 1/8-1/4 mile and it starts bucking. Like the signal to the injectors flicker.. like a bad light ballast causes lights to flicker. I can drive the rest of the way and most of the time it WONT do it anymore. Every now and then it will do it.

Only code I have is P0830...which I think thats a GPR issue. Also I passed CCT.

Thanks for any input...

Is it possible for the HPx line to drain down and get air in it?

Another thought....was looking in the pictures and I noticed it was on 1/4 tank. I have been letting my truck run low since now I drive 10mi to work instead of 60:hmmm:

fill the tank up some and see if it still does it. I know on my 02 before switching out fuel pumps mine would sometimes die out on me when it got under 1/4 tank especially after sitting overnight.

Sounds like maybe an IPR or CPS issue.

I would also check your oil level. I have seen low oil cause that problem when cold sometimes the truck would actually die and long crank to restart. Once it starts getting warm doesn't do it til it sits for a few hours. Had A few trucks in the last month with that problem and found roughly 6-8 quarts of oil in all of them.

What do you think about the pics of the IPR duty cycle numbers I posted?

Oil level is about a quart low. It smells like burnt charcoal. I don't remember oil smelling like that...even used. And this is the first time I'm running synthetic. But its already been a couple thousand miles with no issues. Maybe the composition has changed slightly:shrug: Its also 10W-30...which I've ran it it regular dyno before. I started to buy oil yesterday but figured I'd try the CPS first.

To be honest I never looked.

IPR% really is not what you want to be watching anyways, ICP would tell the story better.

IF you had an ICP problem then look at IPR% to see if its being commanded to do what its doing, but if the problem does not happen long enough your Scangauge will never catch it.

Replaced the CPS, topped off the oil with 1qrt of Hot Shot Secret, replaced the fuel filter....its better but still does it. The idle seems to have a little stumble to it (or its all in my head). It only cuts out around shift points, after I get to OD its fine. Gonna unplug the ICP today and check it out. Can't do a whole lot with this hurricane coming in. (On a side note, anybody know someone that has a PTO or LP generator?:matt-roloff:) Gonna check there harness make sure its good and secure, couldn't imagine it coming lose though. I've even considered the air filter. I've had it act similar to this when my AFE filter was dirty.
