EVO upgrade tune question

Hello,
I'm getting ready to send in my EVO today and want to know about the different daily driver tunes. Which will get me better gas mileage? I want to to pick the best tunes for my needs.
Thanks for your help!

Most of us have had good luck with the 87-89 performance and tow custom tunes.

Tell Bill what kind of driving you normally do - City? City/Highway? or just Highway? and that you want to maximize gas mileage. He'll write the tunes accordingly. And, just as 88Racing said, I have an 87 DD and an 87 Tow tune.

:hehe: Darkhorse, I think your going to have to ask the diesel guys as it appears you have a 2000 PSD. I dont really know as much about the diesels so I'm going to take a guess that the lower horsepower daily driver tunes will get you the best mileage, but like I said, I dont really know for sure. I think any performance tune should do well because they are designed to make the most of each shot of fuel. Just dont forget a tow tune so you get the best mileage while towing.

Well duh! Good on you Longshot. :thumbs up yellow: Just shows us old farts aren't always the BEST source of information and the "young and beautiful" are always needed to keep us on our toes.

Darkhorse, ignore everything 88 and I said. Put your money on Longshot's advice!

Thanks to everyone, gave my driving habits and needs on form and will send it out. Now the wait begins.

You'll be suprised at how Bill can make things work. I needed low end for climbing up hills (I've measured some as bad as 30+˚ grades) but still needed power on the highway. The wait wont be so bad if you forget you ordered it.

Crud!
Sorry about that.:(
Didn't see anything about psd in the sig when I posted!:yikes2: where'd that come from?:hmmm:
Most choose the 80hp tune as a DD.
Peace!:)
