How to keep weeds and grass from growing in a chainlink fence
Let me start off by saying since I got a chainlink fence last year the I've made a major investment in weed eater trimmer line....
Over the course of this winter and spring I did a lot of research on how to combat the problem....I was determined not to use herbicides.... My final idea to the problem was this..... http://i877.photobucket.com/albums/a...-46-03_411.jpg Its old bailer belting from a round bailer that I got from an impliment salvage yard. For the whole fence it only cost $50. I had toyed with this idea last year looking at new belting but the lineal cost was staggering at +$2 per foot.... I was able to use a hole saw and drill a hole the size of the post....I then notched it using a swazall and tucked it under the fence and slipped it around the post.... Here's what it looks like now..... http://i877.photobucket.com/albums/a...-15-02_283.jpg |
Great Idea! :), If I had a fence that wasn't already half buried and half @$$ed... :cheesy smile:
