I own a 2006 F350 6.0 DRW 4x4 chassis cab with a utility body. My 5year/100,000 mile warranty expires next month. The FICM works fine now, no issues, but I am interested in the FICM REPROGRAMMING AND ECM/TCM ROLLBACK and I have some questions.



1.) Should I have the latest “flash” done by the dealer first?

2.) Should I replace the batteries first?

3.) How does the remote programming work? (I have a Mac book Pro laptop)



My main objective is to increase MPG’s without sacrificing reliability. It is a work truck that hauls occasionally and plows frequently but never tows.

No, the PHP flash completely overwrites the existing flash. Doesn't matter what you have on there now.

2.) Should I replace the batteries first?

If they are weak or questionable, yes. These trucks are sensitive to low voltage problems. On the other hand, if is starts up good, you should be fine. Wouldn't hurt to clean up the cable connections.

3.) How does the remote programming work? (I have a Mac book Pro laptop)
PHP will send you a programmer, no need for a PC, at least for the FICM tuning. ECM, I'm not sure about.

You're on the right track. Keep in mind the wait time for remote programming, if it's at all possible to send your FICM/ ECM to PHP, it's a shorter wait. Most of us can't be without our trucks for that long though :sigh:
