Questions about Gryphon
My truck is going into fords body shop tomorrow ,my question is should i return the Gryphon to stock or leave it alone.?
The bed of the truck has to come off so i think they will disconect the battery for a few days plus my light bar is hardwired in to the wiring loom.(someones going to have fun time with that) Are there any issues with this? Thanks for any help. |
I would return it to stock. You never know when they might mess with something. Better safe than sorry.

Question for Bill if he reads this. Is there a max number of re-flashes like some other manufacturers ECU's are purported to have? I know my Subaru has a max in the 200-250 range of re-flashes. No one seems to know what the exact number is. I was just curious if Ford had this limitation as well. |
My ford dealer WON'T re-flash my truck and they are ok with the Gryphon, ive talked at length with them about it,so that i'm not worried about.

My advise if you use a Ford dealership is to have them note on your file/account in bolt letters ****DO NOT RE-FLASH PCM****
Dealers will bend over backwards to keep you happy today. Thanks jack for the reply i needed. |
Put it back to stock if the battery is going to be disconnected for a couple of days. Remove unit so it doesn't grow legs.

Having worked in a dealership, I'll say most techs won't mess with it; however, you can never be sure about some goofball wanting to give it a look and changing something, or walking away with it. I think they're right, take it out of the truck.
