Backfiring

Since i had my custom tunes my truck has started to Backfire, any known issues of this kind?

Corey Cohron RIP Wed, July 1st, 2009 07:39 PM

You've had your tunes for awhile. It's been happening the whole time?

average-joe Thu, July 2nd, 2009 12:49 PM

Yes the last few months i've been running the custom tunes.
There is no set pattern to the backfire,i could go a few weeks and nothing happens.

Got my tunes 05-19-2009 .

Does it happen upon accelerating, at wide open throttle, or somewhere in between?

average-joe Thu, July 2nd, 2009 03:54 PM

It happens after accelerating when your foot is off the gas.

Sounds kind of like raw fuel is being dumped into the tailpipe to me. We used to see this sometimes with carbureted engines, but I thought fuel injectors pretty much stopped this from happening.

Okee-dokee. I'll run that past Billy and see what he says. I'm sure he'll probably need to chat with you a bit before actually getting down to WHY it's happening. Then I'll:cheesy smile: post to help other people, too! :cheesy smile:

I guess i've been forgotten with my problems?

Jackpine Thu, August 6th, 2009 06:29 PM

I doubt it was intentional, but I suspect you WERE kind of "forgotten". I'll see if I can get their attention on this again.
