how she's driving....

hey...well right now i have a k and n CAI,super 44 muffler and an edge programmer on my truck...i have the programmer on "Tow" mode until i send the programmer out to be upgraded in the next week....but the issue is...i feel like the truck is less responsive at certain points since the CAI is installed even in the tranny only mode....is this normal w/o a tune? or ?

Could be that your throttle body and/or MAF sensor needs to be cleaned.
What year truck?
What motor?
Please fill out your user cp it needs some more info.

Peace!:)

please explain in better detail.
certain RPM's or certain speeds or gear?

I don't want to lead you to think that your truck is running lean but it could be the problem.
My best advice is to put the stock intake back on and the put the cai back on when your upgraded gryphon comes back with your custom tunes.
It's hard for me to say it's running lean because I can't hook up a wide band to see what the afr actually is.
K+N is one of the least agressive cai's on the market also.
04-05's were known for lean programming from the factory.

less responsive mostly while coasting or cruising...i cant just gas it to get the kick i normally would of to pass someone on the street or highway w/o having to let tranny down shift or punching it.

well i have my edge packaged up and ready to be sent to get the upgrade and some custom tunes as well. i just need to get a free min from work to ship it...lol...what intake would you reccomend then since the k&n is less aggressive? im not trying to blow a ton of $$ on a new one....the k&n i got for a steal and a half so its worth running it. but im open to suggestion

Let's get something straight.
I'm not telling that your k+n is bad.
I'm telling you that its one of the best ones out on the market.
It has been researched and designed more than any on the market.
Why I'm saying less agressive is that k+n found the sweet spot for the MAF that's closet to stock.
So NO don't go out and spend anymore money. You have a GOOD cai.

Peace!:)
