Default I SO am not kidding

Okay, so most of you know that my sister went to the doctor in mid December with some swelling in her leg. She was diagnosed with Poorly Distributed Carcinoma and had tumors in her brain, spine, lungs, stomach, kidneys, and liver. Over the next 4½ weeks, she gained over 100 pounds -- that's POUNDS -- of fluid, and she died on January 14.

I haven't said much until we knew what was going on, but about a week after returning home from Renee's funeral, my dad finally went to the doctor. (I had nagged him the entire time I was in Missouri. At one point, I told him, "Dad, you're yellow. Not discolored. You're YELLOW. And that means something's going on with your liver.") Well, the CAT scan showed he had multiple masses on his liver and in his lungs.

For the last couple of weeks, he's been to several doctors. They can't stick a needle in his liver to do a biopsy because they're afraid he won't stop bleeding. They couldn't do a colonoscopy yesterday because his BP was 76/35 (he's taken medicine for HIGH blood pressure forever). My stepmom says that he's in a wheelchair and is skin and bones except for his feet, legs, and abdomen. This is exactly what happened to Renee in December.

My dad survived stage 4 throat cancer 11 years ago. I'm sure he knew what was happening in his body (we knew something was wrong back in November when they watched the boys while we were at SEMA) and just knew he wouldn't be able to fight it again. He won't let them admit him to the hospital because he's afraid he's going to die in there just like his daughter.

I'm not exactly sure what to ask for in this Prayer Request post. Maybe if you could say a prayer that my dad doesn't suffer much. Also, my stepmom just lost her only biological child a month ago. Please pray for her, too. I'm not sure how this is all going to play out in the grand scheme of things.

Thank you.
