Index, my 2005 has the message center and I think you need a "part". Trucks with a message center have a 3-pushbutton switch assembly that fits into the dashboard to the right of the steering wheel. The center button is the "Setup" button and you push that to cycle through several menu items, one of which is "Units". Then you press the "Reset" button to toggle between Miles or kilometers.

If you don't have that control, you're kind of out of luck. If you can find the truck your cluster came out of, it would have the switch assembly. Then I'm sure you'd just plug it into a wiring harness on the instrument cluster.

Of course you might find this switch assembly at a dealership too, for a steep price.
