Ok, I stated the wrong model year - it is a 2001 F-250 7.3L, 2 wheel drive, Crew cab with auto transmission. Based on the label of the PCM, it is a DCP-422. There is a Ford sticker in the engine compartment labeled Authorized Modifications. It indicates that the PCM was reprogrammed by the dealership in 2003 and has (hand written) 1U7A FUA along with the dealer number and the date of 10/23/2003. I'm guessing this was simply an update to the factory program.

Does your statement about it having a DCP-422 change knowing that it is a 2001? I am planning to take back to the dealer to have them reprogram the PCM back to factory stock. It does not have a chip attached. I have ordered a 6 position chip from PHP and they suggest I get it reset to factory as well.

Thanks for the info!
