Default I am impressed!!!!!!!!

Well if you haven't noticed the new picture in my sig that's what the gryphon did to my truck with the custom tunes. New paint job' bigger tires, lost two doors, and now have a blown 1100hp motor!!!!!

Ok, So after getting the gryphon loaded with the tunes on Friday and having to work the rest of the day. Worst case senario happened. The sky opened up and it rained for a good 4 hours. I thought "no way!" but it came down anyway.

My first test run was to the grocery store. I did not go to the local one I went to the grocery store a little further away in Sioux falls. Had the butterflies in my stomach ever since I loaded the tunes. Well me and the little girl were off to the store, she had to try out her new booster seat.

PID'S I had on:
Cht
Speed
Volts
Comm gear

Just my luck! We get to follow slowa$$ Sunday drivers out to the interstate. I did feel something though. Eventhough they were driving slow, why did it seem I was going fast? Wierd? Turned the gps on and confirmed the feeling. Needle was at a +5 of the gps under 40 mph and +8 overthat. Got the grocery list out and wrote #1 adjustment tire size. The big test was my favorite double left hand turn to get on the interstate. Yes I was first up on the inside lane. Waiting patiently for the stop light to turn green. Told the little girl "hold on!".
Then it happened the light turned green and we were off! I was being cautious but yet aggresive due to the wet concrete. Went into the corner doing a power slide drift. Hung on to it and maintained it 3/4 of the way up the ramp. By the time I hit the entrance I was doing about 85mph with about my foot into it only a 1/4 to 1/3 of a peddle. My little girl kept repeating "again dad!" I said "that once was enough". Other than that little bit of fun I found the tune quite enjoyable. With new found passing power, I am happy so far.

One concern their is a little tc lock hiccup. It happens when I was going 40-45 in forth. Let the foot out of it slow up a few and ease back into it, the tc acts confused. It's like you nudged it and all of the sudden it woke quickly not gradually.

Redid ts to 2480 that works out to 6.3% squish
2470=7%
2498=5%
Weird the ph was at 2465?!

The other thing I noticed is the cht running 1-2 degrees warmer? At 80 mph at 71 degrees cht was at 209-210.

I love the shifts. I did not play with the firmness. Why do you have to?

Lars
With the ud pulleys I know the idle needs a bump she's running at 12.8 when at a stop in d with alot on.

Glad you're having fun Lars! Seeing 12.8 volts at idle says, "Raise the idle speed" to me too. I'd try as little as possible though, maybe 50 RPMs and see what happens?

That's a big speed error though. If I understood you correctly, the truck said it was going 8 mph faster than you were really going at interstate speeds? That's a 10% error! And, that doesn't seem right for a custom, unmodified tune. I wonder if your gears are correct? I'd check both GR and TS and plug in the values you used to use with your canned tunes.

You might want to play a bit with the TC lock/unlock in the 3-4 shift range. It sounds like the TC is too sensitive, which is what I felt. I simply reduced both the lock and unlock points and I like the result a lot better. Tins is clearly something Bill could also adjust, but it almost has to be done by trial and error and "feel" on the actual truck doesn't it? Possibly, once you get the part throttle shifts and TC behavior to your liking, you could tell Bill your "custom settings" and he could adjust your tune. If I ever feel Bill has time for this sort of "fine tuning", I'll let him know how I've set mine up. Right now, he has more important things to do.

I agree, no point in messing with the shift firmness at all. I think it's perfect in my truck.

I doubt the CHT difference is a big deal. Possibly caused by a different A/F ratio? And, that's clearly in the range it needs to be for efficient operation.

The CHT has to do with both the adjustments to AFR and the adjustments to the timing curve. Both will raise CHT slightly but, as Jack said, it's not anything to be concerned about.

The T/C lockup in 4th is a relatively simple fix. I just don't get why some trucks do it and some don't. Anyway, we just need to change the tip-in lockup delay and lock points to correct that.

Glad you're enjoying the ride. I do have to give you a little crap for goofing around with a youngster in the truck, but it sounds like she's at least having a good time. Besides, I can't say I never did that myself.

Get with me next week and we'll tweak out the rest of the stuff for you.

Take care and have a great weekend!
